Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Safeguarding Adults Board
This website includes information on safeguarding vulnerable adults from abuse, and the work of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Safeguarding Adults Board.
There is also information on the Care Act 2014 in relation to Safeguarding, and how this important piece of law protects vulnerable people by changing the way that Safeguarding is placed on a statutory footing. Safeguarding vulnerable adults is everyone’s business.
This site will provide information for people who may experience or be at risk of experiencing abuse, their families, carers, neighbours, community and anyone who works with people with health or social care needs.
The site will be maintained and up dated on a regular basis to ensure the information contained within it reflects the best possible information that is available.
Anyone who becomes aware of concerns of abuse must report those concerns as soon as possible and in within one working day. In the first instance you may need to report the information verbally. If in doubt, report sooner rather than later.
Protect the Person: Your immediate duty is to protect the person with care and support needs, seek any emergency help and report the concern. Call 999 without delay if the adult requires urgent Medical Attention. If the adult is in danger of repeated significant harm or has just been the victim of a serious crime – call the police 999. Tell the emergency service that the person is an adult with care and support needs
