Dal Dy Dir: Respite and Supported Breaks for families with disabilities

Dal Dy Dir is a charitable organisation working with individuals and their families with a range of disabilities including Autism Spectrum, Down’s Syndrome, Dementia, Mental Health and others. Using our rurally based four acre site in Newtown, Mid Wales, Dal Dy Dir is able to offer emergency respite placements, respite breaks and day services. We have a philosophy of working with both individuals and their families using an inclusive family approach to ensure the most positive outcome possible for the long term. All experienced professionals, our team are carefully selected for their dedication to both the charity and its clients.

Through daily activities, an individual development plan and ongoing support and encouragement, our supported breaks make a massive difference to challenges that the families are facing. The access to 1-2-1 coaching sessions provide family members space to discuss their issues, make plans to cope with crisis and move forwards. Coaching, counselling and crisis intervention are all part of the interventions on offer. This means that we can target wider issues within a family context and develop plans for when families return home.
