Parents should first discuss concerns about progress with the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) at school or educational setting.  If, following discussions with the school or setting it is felt that the involvement of an EP is needed, then the SENCo will complete and submit the necessary paperwork including the parental/carer signature to provide consent.

For pre-school children, parents should discuss concerns about progress with the child’s key person or SENCo in the setting or their health visitor.
