Peterborough City Council Statutory Assessment & Monitoring Service (SAMS)

Peterborough City Council Statutory Assessment & Monitoring Service (SAMS)

This team is responsible for co-ordinating the statutory process in relation to Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments and the review of EHC plans.

An important part of this work is making sure that all the advice required to develop a clear assessment of a child or young person's needs is made available in a timely way and that the views of the child/young person and their family are at the heart of the assessment process and central to the co-production of the draft plan and final plan.

The team is also responsible for ensuring that reviews of EHC plans take place (organised and run by the educational setting) on an annual basis and to update the EHC Plan (if appropriate) following the annual review of the Plan.
