Romsey Mill’s Aspire Programme runs youth clubs in Cambridge City and Cambourne for young people with autistic spectrum conditions who are in mainstream schools. The weekly youth clubs create a social space for members to interact at a level with which they are comfortable.
A high ratio of support is offered from committed volunteers. Young people go to relax and be themselves, and to do things that they enjoy. There is no pressure to socialise, but members often find they enjoy sharing activities, such as board games, pool, table tennis, lego, crafts or cooking, with others who have similar interests and difficulties. There are also groups specifically for girls with autistic spectrum conditions.
