Eye Parish Council

Located east of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire, Eye is the largest village in the Peterborough area with over 4700 residents. It was once an island in the fens and the centre of the village is just few metres above sea level. To the north is the Lincolnshire county border and the town of Crowland with its historic Abbey.

The village hosts a Church of England primary school, doctor’s surgery, a public house, two general stores and a pharmacy. A number of other successful businesses operate across the village. There is a well-used village hall and community centre, library and a large number of vibrant and successful community groups.

The parish consists of two areas, Eye and Eye Green, and boasts two wildlife sites which were previously used for clay extraction for brick manufacture, one of them Star Pit is a site of specific scientific interest due to its unique habitat that supports rare invertebrates.

The parish office is usually open on Wednesday and Friday mornings and there is a 24-hour answer phone, calls will be returned as soon as possible. Personal visits to the office are welcome.
