Nene Valley Primary School

Nene Valley School

-

Following building work to expand the school it now has nine classrooms, an Early Years Foundation Stage unit (reception), a hall which also serves as a dining room, a library and multi media room, a food technology room, a group teaching room and various ancilliary rooms. It has underfloor heating, a passive ventilation system and a sprinkler system.

The large grounds include a playing field with mini-soccer pitch, large climbing apparatus, willow tunnel and hill, a well designed outdoor reception play area with covered space, main playground with play markings, trim trail and seating, and outdoor classroom with a classroom sized gazebo, geology and woodland areas. The grounds have won both Peterborough in Bloom and Anglia in Bloom awards.

We have an excellent range of ICT facilities with interactive whiteboards in all classrooms taht are currently in use, two wireless laptop trolleys and three computers in each class. All classrooms have overhead digital projectors and all teachers have their own laptop for planning and using in class.

We have a very active ‘Friends of Nene Valley’ who plan activities both for the children and the parents, e.g. car boot sale, summer fair, coffee afternoon, disco etc.
