Peterborough Youth Choir inspires children and young people aged seven plus with a love of music and singing, providing families from across the city and beyond access to FREE-to-all tuition and offering exceptional and unforgettable experiences and opportunities, from performing in West End musicals to singing live on stage with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Singing - and music in general - plays an ever-decreasing role in the school curriculum, and as a result, cultural opportunities are becoming closed off to many youngsters. Peterborough Youth Choir believes that ALL young people are entitled to an arts education and to once-in-a-lifetime musical experiences, providing these to members regardless of gender, social, cultural or economic background.
Group singing has well-documented benefits for both physical and mental health and wellbeing and provides a wealth of marketable, transferable skills including relationship-building and teamwork. There’s also an important social aspect to it - members take pride in themselves and their activities - being part of a team, something bigger than themselves, there’s nothing quite like it!
Rehearsals take place on Wednesdays at All Saints’ Church Hall, All Saints Road, Peterborough PE1 2UL. Term times only.
Our rehearsal times are from 4.00pm - 5.30pm.
There are no formal auditions or tests to join the choir. Enthusiasm is essential!
