Everyman Project

Everyman Project

The Everyman Project was formed as a result of the closure of the Everyman Center, A Volunteer Organisation which was formed in 1989 offering support to perpetrators of domestic violence. After the center closed in 1996 due to lack of funding, some of the then volunteers decided to continue the work by forming what is now the Everyman Project. We are a Charitable organisation whose mission is to help society by reducing angry, abusive and violent behaviours.

The Everyman Project is an Organisational member of the BACP, our entry for the BACP counselling and Psychotherapy Awards 2010 was shortlisted and recommended as highly commended and we have since gained accredited service status with the BACP. The Everyman Project has previously been funded by Porticus UK, Lloyds TSD Foundation for England and Wales, City Bridge Trust and was runner-up in the Kinds Funds Impact Awards, Glaxo-Smithkline. We are also members of the International Family Aggression Society (IFAS). We are currently funded by the OAK Foundation.

As an organisational member of BACP we are bound by its Ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy, the ethical guidelines for researching counselling and psychotherapy (where organisations undertake research) and subject to the professional conduct procedure for the time being in force.
