Leighton Primary School
Welcome to Leighton Primary school. Thank you for taking the time to view our school website. We hope that you will enjoy exploring the many exciting and enriching aspects of our school life.
The Leighton team of Staff, Governors and Parents are dedicated to moving our school forward and ensuring that all of the children are reaching their full potential at all times.
Leighton Primary School is a happy and successful school where children are at the heart of everything we do. We hope that this website enables you to gain an insight into our purposeful and balanced curriculum, excellent sporting provision and the many enriching experiences that we offer to the children at our school.
It is a real privilege to be part of a school where the children are a credit to us through their respect, care and consideration that is reflected in their everyday behaviour around school along with their evident desire to learn and determination to succeed.
We stress the importance of working alongside parents and the community to provide outstanding education. We ensure that everyone feels valued and safe in school by insisting on positive behaviour and consideration for others. These relationships are the foundation of all that we do.
We provide a broad variety of activities and opportunities within and beyond the National Curriculum, catering for many needs and talents. We are flexible and responsive in producing challenging opportunities and enriching activities.
We create a purposeful learning environment in which work of the highest standards is produced and where individuals of all abilities are given every opportunity to realise their potential. We will continue to be a forward-looking, innovative school, working together to achieve excellence.

At Leighton School we aim to meet the educational needs of all our pupils. They will have an equal opportunity to participate in the full curriculum of the school, including the National Curriculum and Early Learning Goals, at an appropriate level. We will ensure that we meet the statutory requirements within the SEN Code of Practice 2014.
Our ethos is one of full inclusion in school life and we work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure that they are fully involved in all SEND matters relating to their child, inluding transition arrangements to and from the school.
Most doors leading into our single storey school buildings have ramps to allow wheelchair access. There is one toilet for the disabled situated in the main school which contains a padded bed for nappy changing etc.
