Adfam HMP Peterborough
Adfam HMP Peterborough is an alcohol and drug family support service for family members of prisoners.
Adfam is the leading umbrella national organisation in supporting family members that are impacted by substance misuse.
Adfam have a team based full time at HMP Peterborough.
They support family members of prisoners who have been impacted by substance misuse issues.
They also provide harm minimisation packs for family members including information on safe storage of prescribed substitutes for people in recovery.
Members come from all walks of life. They are wives, husbands, partners, sisters, brothers, children, parents, friends or colleagues of alcoholics.
No matter what our relationship has been with a problem drinker, we share a common bond; we feel our lives have been affected by another person's drinking.
We recommend attending about six meetings before you decide whether Al-Anon is for you. Meetings tend to last an hour and a half.
For 12-17 year olds there is Alateen.
Alateen is for young people who are affected by someone else's drinking.
To find out more about Alateen please visit the Al-anon website or call 020 7407 0215.
