Your child will have general develpmental delay, a movement disorder or disability due to a diagnosis or illness for which physiotherapy is indicated. You may be a pre-existing condition which will have a significant impact upon your child's development, or neurological damage at, or shortly before birth.
The service provides assessments and management for children with physical disabilities, developmental disorders and complex needs.
For children of preschool age we are part of the child development unit multidisciplinary team.
For children with suspected neurodevelopmental disorders we provide the first part of the assessment for referrals that have come through the Early Help Pathway.
We provide both general paediatric assessments and also run specialist clinics which include physical disability, hearing and visual impairment, and Downs Syndrome.
We provide the medical advice to support EHCP for children and young people
