We are a small group enthusiastic about what Central Park can offer the residents of Peterborough; Central Park was created in 1875 as a formal Victorian Park. It is a unique attraction for a rich diversity of people from all cultures across the city - the “Jewel in Peterborough’s Crown”. It has been awarded Green Flag status (national award). It benefits particularly those who have few opportunities to enjoy green spaces, with health and social benefits, as well as offering many leisure opportunities - a brilliant cafe with a vibrant community, tennis, bowls, croquet and countless less formal activities. Young families adore the paddling pool and the sandpit. We represent park users, argue for their interests, and are now seeking better ways to work with partners to bring new income and new focus to the park in future.
