Care Zone
The Care Zone is a warehouse of good quality furniture, clothing, toys and household items – donated by church members and others in the community – that are given away free of charge to those that are in need in and around Peterborough.
Who can use the Care Zone?
Run by KingsGate Community Church, the Care Zone operates on a referral system.
Agencies in the city who work with the underprivileged and needy can register with the Care Zone and can then refer their clients to the team.
How do I donate items to the Care Zone?
Donations of good quality items to the warehouse are always welcome and will be a real blessing to those who have very little.
Bedding or furniture will only be accepted if in good condition.
For Health and Safety reasons we cannot accept stained items, or items that are torn/damaged.
Please do not donate items that are broken or incomplete.
We want to offer good quality items to those who visit the warehouse.
Collections can be arranged for larger items
Want to volunteer?
We operate almost entirely by volunteers and would love to have you join us.
We have a variety of different volunteer roles from packing and sorting, cooking, training and furniture assembly.
If you would like to volunteer please contact the Care Zone on 01733 575083.

Coronavirus update 16/4/2020
Care Zone has suspended its usual services. However, we are keeping our telephone line open to accept emergency referrals via telephone. We would class an emergency as someone with ill health, pregnant or with children with no bed to sleep on. We can only help if a referral has been given by a trained referral agency. We will do emergency deliveries only, and we cannot enter a persons property at this moment. So we will leave items outside the property/property building and the client is expected to find help if needed for moving the items inside the property.
We can accept donations if brought to our warehouse between the hours of 9-1 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
Coronavirus Update Sept 2020
Care Zone is back open, with Covid safety measures in place. Our warehouse is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 10-1 to accept donations for furniture and small household items.
We are consulting with clients via telephone, and ask for all referrals to be sent to us directly. Our face to face service has been suspended for the foreseeable future, which Covid restrictions are in place.
We are actively looking for volunteers to join our warehouse and van teams, please contact us by phone or email if you'd like to join our teams.
