Suhbah Sessions is a youth group for girls aged 13-19 years.
Background
Suh'bah (صحبة) is an Arabic word which encompasses the meanings of friendship, companionship, fellowship and mentorship. The purpose of Suhbah Sessions is to build a sisterhood that enriches and empowers young women to reach their social, emotional and spiritual potential.
The project is founded on ethical principles rooted in the Islamic tradition, however we welcome participants from any faith or non-faith background.
Aims
Suhbah Sessions aims to establish an environment that:
● is a safe space to have conversations about current and relevant topics;
● encourages sisterhood through the development of meaningful relationships;
● raises aspirations and self-confidence;
● nurtures the development of a confident identity, anchored in universal principles;
● imbues good etiquette;
● promotes the service of others.
