Educational Psychology Service
The Educational Psychology Service is for children and young people aged 0 to 25. EPs advise staff, other professionals and parents/carers on ways of supporting children in their educational, emotional and social development. Where appropriate EPs carry out psychological assessments of children and young people in a range of settings including early years, schools and colleges.

If, following discussions with the school or setting it is felt that the involvement of an EP is needed, then the SENCo will complete and submit the necessary paperwork including the parental/carer signature to provide consent.
For pre-school children, parents should discuss concerns about progress with the child’s key person or SENCo in the setting or their health visitor.
