Childrens Community Specialist Nursing Service
Children's Community Specialist Nurses provide nursing to children with complex needs at home.
They provide care for children and young people from 0 up to their 18th birthday who:
- need acute short-term interventions to enable them to be cared for at home
- have complex healthcare needs/long-term conditions requiring nursing support/intervention
- require palliative and end-of-life care
Referrals are made via GPs and other health and social care professionals working with children and young people within the Greater Peterborough and Local Commissioning Group.

We accept referrals from clinicians and social care professionals working with children, young people and families who are registered with a Peterborough based GP practice and some areas of NHS Cambridgeshire (Yaxley, Whittlesey, Oundle & Wansford). New referrals are dealt with on receipt by the member on staff on duty at the time. Immediate action will be taken on referrals received by 12.00 if it requires immediate attention.
