Local Account - Providing support

What we are proud of

  • Despite a pressurised care market, we have comparatively low unit rates for care whilst CQC ratings remain comparatively good
  • We have good flows of patients from hospital and proactive links into health services in the community and integrated neighbourhoods
  • We have an agreement in place with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) to deliver mental health social work,  This is through a Section 75 agreement.  This partnership is moving from strength to strength with joint workplans and service improvement plans in place

What we are working to make better

  • There are some challenges in respect of capacity in the market to effectively and efficiently meet complex needs for people with a learning disability or mental health condition
  • The Integrated Care System has established an Accountable Business Unit (ABU) to take forward improvements to health and care services for Learning Disability and Mental Health.   Social care managers are involved to ensure social care needs are fully considered
  • We are not doing as well as we would like to in respect of employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs, and there is now a focus on this area
